Friday,
July 17: Satan Hates Music
Many
people have asked about the music featured in the SATAN
HATES YOU trailer. The song is "Black Kiss"
by the band Thirsty.
If you were one of the many who loved "Black Kiss",
you'll be happy to hear that the band has a few other
songs in SATAN HATES YOU.
Also,
Thirsty's own William Michael O’Malley along with
Thaddeus Corea recorded a brand new piece, "Satan
Hates You", specifically for the movie's opening
title sequence.

Much
of the film's score was created by Lily Wolfe of Parker
& Lily fame. In addition to Lily's own work are
two songs from Parker & Lily's "Here Comes Winter"
album.
Additional
original music is by Richard
Kaponas, director of the indie film RANCHERO.
Rich has contributed in a wide variety of ways to all
of the previous MonsterPants movies. Visit the Haunted
House of Projects for more of Rich's stuff along with
work by Kathryn
DiLego, who created a series of illustrations for
SATAN HATES YOU.
Horrorpunks
Blitzkid
were kind enough to share four tracks from their "Trace
of a Stranger" and "Anatomy of Reanimation"
CDs. Check them out on tour this summer. For cities and
dates, visit their MySpace
page.
Appearing
in one of the film's opening scenes is Portland Maine's
Cougars
Kill Cobras, playing two songs from their debut CD.
The band features regular MonsterPants collaborator Noah
DeFilippis on bass.
Cast
member Francine Pado provided us with not only a wonderful
acting performance, but a number of songs by her bands
Goddess
and Heaven.
COW
comics contributing artists Al & Rick Limacher pulled
one from the archives when they gave us 1983's "Mushrooms"
by their band Automatic
Shock. "Mushrooms" can currently be found
on the compilation CD included with the book "All
Your Ears Can Hear: Underground Music in Victoria, BC
1978-1984" which features more info on the band.
A
huge thank you to all who contributed music to the film
and to producer Lisa Wisely who pulled it all together.
You rock.

But
the really big news is that the SATAN HATES YOU trailer
is finally ready and waiting to premiere June 6th at FANGORIA'S
WEEKEND OF HORRORS in NYC as part of the Glass Eye
Pix presentation.
The
Glass Eye Pix panel is to take place 1:30 pm on Saturday,
June 6 in Hall 1-D at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.
Fangoria
reports:
"Sharing the stage with Glass Eye producer/director
Larry Fessenden will be directors Glenn McQuaid (I SELL
THE DEAD), Graham Reznick (I CAN SEE YOU), James Felix
McKenney (SATAN HATES YOU, HYPOTHERMIA), Jim Mickle (MULBERRY
STREET, upcoming STAKE LAND) and Joe Maggio (BITTER FEAST),
as well as Nick Damici (MULBERRY STREET co-scripter/star
and STAKE LAND writer) and composer Jeff Grace (THE ROOST,
THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL)."
Also
included among the various treats in store for audiences
is the debut of the teaser trailer for our upcoming monster
flick, HYPOTHERMIA.
Inspired
by films from the golden age of religious cinema, SATAN
HATES YOU is a graphic horror movie that tells the stories
of two individuals and their personal struggles with Lucifer
himself. In the film we follow Marc (Don Wood), a homicidal
maniac driven by demons buried deep within his soul and
Wendy (Christine Spencer), who lives life fast and hard
without any thought to the consequences. Their separate
paths will eventually cross, but will it be on the road
to salvation or the highway to hell?
Wednesday,
May 27: AUTOMATONS Goes Public!
Starting
today, visitors to New York Public Television station
WNET's
Reel 13 website can view Glass Eye Pix's award-winning
film, AUTOMATONS,
in its entirety. The film is available to watch streaming
for free along with additional AUTOMATONS content, including
an exclusive Reel
13 interview with writer-director James Felix McKenney.
Also
available is the option to download a high-quality digital
copy of the film for anyone who makes a donation to Channel
13.
The
Village Voice exclaimed "Robot radness achieved!"
and the New York Times said that "the buzzing static
and fizzy backlighting recall the glistening surrealism
of the filmmaker Guy Maddin... enormously endearing"
when AUTOMATONS was first released in theaters in 2007.
The film was directed by DYI auteur James Felix McKenney
who also directed CANNIBALLISTIC!, THE OFF SEASON and
the forth-coming SATAN HATES YOU and HYPOTHERMIA.
Says
McKenney, "I'm incredibly excited to have our film
be part of Reel 13. I have been a huge fan of Public Television
my whole life. In fact, AUTOMATONS is almost entirely
inspired by my a large part of childhood spent staring
through the snow at a tiny B&W television with a coat
hanger for an antenna to watch DOCTOR WHO, THE PRISONER,
MATINEE AT THE BIJOU, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and the
classic films of Hitchcock as well as Universal horror
movies on my local PBS stations in Maine and New Hampshire.
I think we've found the perfect online home for our little
film."
AUTOMATONS
is the third film in Glass Eye Pix's ScareFlix series
and is currently available on DVD from Facets Video. This
black & white, retro-science fiction experiment tells
the story of a civilization's lone survivor who continues
to fight the robot war that destroyed her people. The
film stars Christine Spencer (SATAN HATES YOU), Brenda
Cooney (I SELL THE DEAD), Angus Scrimm (PHANTASM), Don
Wood (PBS' COLONIAL HOUSE), producer Larry Fessenden (HABIT)
and John Levene (DOCTOR WHO).
