Wednesday,
November 25: SATAN HATES YOU now complete! First review
online!
"audatious...a
fast paced film that packs in a lot of material and style...
SATAN HATES YOU is a very difficult film to classify,
which is exactly why it's a breath of fresh air."
-- Gregory Lamberson, FEAR ZONE

The
time has come! We have completed post-production and SATAN
HATES YOU is now ready for release!
And
we have already received our first review! Gregory Lamberson,
editor of the online horror publication Fear Zone, recently
announced that November would be the last month that the
site would be posting new items. Since Fear Zone has covered
SATAN HATES YOU from the very beginning, my co-producers
and I agreed that we should rush a copy of the film over
to Gregory in hopes of getting one last bit of press out
of Fear Zone before publication ceased.
You
can read Greg's review for yourself here at Fear
Zone.
I
know what you're thinking, "When do I get to see
SATAN HATES YOU?"
We're
in the process of setting up a New York City screening
in the very near future. At that time we will also be
sending out DVD screeners of the film to the press. So
hold on to your hats, SATAN HATES YOU is coming your way
very soon!
Happy
Thanksgiving to all,
JFM

Moisty
the Snowman Saves Christmas tells the tale of how,
with enough tenacity and tinsel, one slushy little snowman
can make a difference of Christmas proportions.
Moisty the Snowman, (Bradford Scobie, Doctor Donut,
Turkey Day with Pilgrim William, Wake Up America! with
Brad & Lori) is a filthy little city snowman
compiled of snow, cigarette butts, White Castle wrappers,
fecal matter and mulch. In lieu of a top hat, Moisty wears
an enchanted orange traffic cone which gives him life.
And, boy oh boy, is he full of life! Moisty is enthusiastic,
optimistic, kind-hearted, intensely self-centered, and
queenier than Adam Lambert at a Fire Island tea dance.
What’s
more, Moisty simply adores Christmas. So you can imagine
his horror when he discovers that Christmas has been cancelled
by the town’s diabolical and glamorous mayor, Mayor
Bloomburger-Meisterburger (Patricia Dell, Mame, 42nd
Street, The King and I), with the help of her henchman,
the menacing Mafioso, Snow Monster (Stephen Vara, She-Devils
On Wheels, Trilogy of Terror). Determined to save
Christmas, Moisty embarks on a journey, in search of Santa
Claus (Steven Hayes, The Penguin Tango, Stories We
Tell Ourselves, Trick). Along the way, Moisty makes
new friends who join him on his Christmassy crusade: Yoyo
the Elf, a teenaged, Brooklyn homeboy with a chip on his
shoulder and an insatiable appetite for a certain portion
of the female anatomy (Dorian Shorts, Nickelodeon’s
The Backyardigans Live, Captain Louie). Jaggedy Ann,
the toxic, angry-lesbian rag doll whom he discovers on
the Island of Recalled Toys (Deanna Glover, Bye Bye
Birdie, Hairspray). And, of course, The Baby Jesus
himself (A Prop).
But
when our heroes finally meet Santa, they are shocked to
discover that he has undergone a dramatic…change?
Oh dear! Will Christmas ever be saved? Laffs! Music! Action!
Nog! It’s the musical-comedy holiday show that is
both naughty and nice.
Moisty the Snowman Saves Christmas is produced
by the New York Musical Theatre Festival and The Work
Room Productions, directed by Scott Faris (Chicago,
Bette Midler’s The Showgirl Must Go On, Walking
with Dinosaurs) and narrated by Mister Showbiz himself,
Murray Hill (A Murray Little Christmas, The Murray
Hill Show, Murray Hill: Caught in the Act).
Moisty the Snowman is a character created by writer, comedian
and character actor Bradford Scobie, who has been a popular
fixture in the downtown scene for years. This October,
Moisty the Snowman will come to life on the stage of the
45th Street Theatre as an official selection of The New
York Musical Theatre Festival as a part of its special
event series.
Mr.
Scobie, who in addition to writing the show wrote the
lyrics and also plays Moisty the Snowman explains, “Moisty
the Snowman Saves Christmas is like a kiddy show
for adults with a nod to the Rankin and Bass clay-mation
Christmas specials of my youth. I’ve been developing
the Moisty character for the past few years, appearing
in comedy variety shows and hosting an all-Christmas/Hanukah
burlesque show. Audience reaction to Moisty has always
been very positive, so I wanted to branch out, write a
full production and take it up town. So I was amazed and
elated when NYMF accepted Moisty.”
This
marks the first original production by the newly formed
The Work Room Productions founded by partners Chase Tyler
and Lisa Wisely. “We are extremely excited to work
with Bradford Scobie to bring the hysterical character
of Moisty and his friends to life in a full production,”
says Producer Chase Tyler.
